Eulogies to Play the Parish Room

Eulogies - Eyes on the Prize video via YouTube

Did y'all know that Eulogies are going to be at the Parish Room on the 18th? Well they are damn it! Furthermore, in addition to the indie-rock stylings of Eulogies you can also catch the Dears as the opening act, as well as Great Northern. That's a pretty bad-ass bill if you ask me. Tickets are still available and will set you back about $15.

In even MORE exciting news you can catch Eulogies with the Dears and Great Northern for FREE!! That's right cheap-ass, you don't even have to pay to see Eulogies! Thanks to my friends over at +1 Media I've got two passes I'll be giving away Monday. The only thing I will tell you about the contest is it's Twitter related, so if you're not down with Twitter, I recommend you do a crash-course this weekend.

Find more videos and info after the jump...

The new record from Eulogies is available now, it came out in early April. It's called, Here Anonymous and you can get it on iTunes if you want. Oh yeah, you can also download a free Mp3 or two over here on their official site courtesy of Dangerbird Records. Here's another video or two for ya'. Are y'all psyched about this contest? I know I am.

I'm loving Eulogies y'all, I feel like there really isn't enough buzz for them yet. It helps that I'm letting y'all know but where the power-blogotron3030's at on this one?

the Dears - Money Babies video via YouTube

the Dears already have a bit of buzz going for them, but to be honest I'm holding out for the live show. I feel like their songs are going to sound a lot better after I see them performed live. Just sayin'.

Great Northern - Low is a Height video via YouTube

The whole time I was writing about Great Northern I was thinking about Northern State, which I thought was an awkward grouping but now it's all becoming clear.

Northern State is from Long Island (aka Strong Island)...explains everything riiiiiight?

New Loxsly CD Y'all

So, I noticed that Loxsly are playing the Mohawk Friday night. It's a CD release party for Tomorrow's Fossils. The songs you'll find below come from the bands previous release, Flashlights, which was a highly-acclaimed four song EP. Needless to say a new, full album from Losxly has a lot of Austinites waiting with baited-breath from Friday's show. It looks like tickets will be in the form of a cover at the door, which is generally $5-$10(ish). Also, it should be noted that this is an Outside show...sweet.

I always wonder about the people who bought those condos directly across from the Mohawk/Club Deville/Stubb's. Do they hate their lives due to noise? Or love their loves...due to bad-ass downtown access? But I digress, find out who else is on the bill after the jump...

Free Mp3's courtesy of Loxsly.com, thanks.

Corto Maltese are definitely a band to be on the look out for in '09. They've been getting some higher-profile Austin gigs as of late...oh yeah and their music's good too. Don't believe me? Ask the internets, these guys have been blogged about by way-cooler blogotrons3030's than me. Check it out, they kick ass...

Oh No! Oh My! are another wave-making band in town right now. They brand of lovely twee-pop has been delighting locals for a while now and they are now on the verge of stepping into a much bigger scene with their latest EP, Dmitrij Dmitrij. I think this might be my new, favorite song. I <3 it.

Booher and the Turkeyz and TV Torso round out the bill Friday night but to be honest I don't really know much about them. I did notice that when you search "TV Torso" you do get some Sound Team results? Even if the other two bands are awful, which I highly doubt, it's still going to be a good show. Besides I'd venture to guess the other two acts are playing the inside stage during set changes for the outside stage. That's an uncomfirmed, and vicious, rumor though so tell all your friends. XOXO Gossip Girl.

TVOTR @ Stubb's Saturday

It looks like you can still get yourself a $30 ticket to see TV on the Radio at Stubb's on Saturday night. I'm a bit surprised by that actually, I def thought this show would sell-out. Do people not care about TV on the Radio anymore? It seemed liked everyone really loved Dear, Science, I was certainly a fan of that record. To be honest though, I hate to be that guy, but I really liked Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes better. :-/

In any case, if you are going to the TVOTR show I highly recommend you catch Harlem playing the after-show. It's free with your ticket and you won't have to walk very far since they are playing at Stubb's inside. I've professed my adoration for Harlem in the past so I won't go on and on. But you know I'll be putting some shhh for you after the jump...

Oh man, I searched and scoured but all the other decent Harlem content I've already posted.
